Default Hello everyone

Hi I'm Casey and I'm brand new here and to quilting in general. I've been trying to figure out how to quilt for years now but couldn't quite get it figured out, but I intend to keep trying.
I first learned how to sew from my grandmother, but I eventually really began to work at it when I gained an interest in Cosplay and Live Action Roleplay. My grandmother was a quilter and I never got to learn from her. So that's part of why I want to learn other than I think it's a really cool type of craft.

Hi and welcome to the QB and quilting from New York state! I whole recommend taking a Quilting 101 type class at a local quilt shop! I learned the basics of quilting there. I already knew how to sew (costumes).

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. A good resource is the YouTube videos done by Jenny Doan for the Missouri Star Quilt Co.

Hi Casey. Welcome to the board from Ohio. Taking a beginner's class is a good idea. Ask this board anything, there is always someone here who can help.

You will love this site for all the information it contains, the new ideas you will receive, etc. I first observed quilting under my grandmother's old quilting frame that hung from the ceiling. Welcome to this board from the beautiful mountains of western NC.

Hi Casey, a warm welcome from Southern California. I learned mostly from watching Quilt in a Day by Eleanor Burns. Try doing a search if you have cable or satellite to see when her show is on locally for you.
