Hello from Rainy Newfoundland

Hi!
I am retiring from teaching in June of this year and intend to become a very serious hobbyist! Quilting, writing, painting, scrapbooking, cross stitiching, photography... I HAVE to use up all the supplies I've bought in the past 30 years and never had time to use!
I have made many quilts and hope to post some pictures later. Both my mom and grandmother were serious needleworkers and my daughter who is 23 is starting to admire my work and leaf through my patterns when she is home from university.
I am married ( divorced 20 years ago and remarried in August of 2007) and have a sheltie and a schnauzer who are faithful companions, especially in my craft room as I work.
Thanks for reading!

Welcome, and Congrats. Sounds as tho you have loads to do. I'm sure you will like it here (In this little corner of the quilting world) Lots of inspiration, Lots of laughs, Lots of good people, that are willing to share and teach you. have a question? Post it. Alot of animal lovers (I'm one). Your furry buddies sound wonderfull. We have some very special people here from all over the world. You could'nt of picked a better place to join. So get a cup of tea, and come back and sit a spell.

I'm jealous! Instead of retiring from teaching I started a whole new career. I'm wondering if I'll ever have time to do all the things I'd love to do. Guess I'll just keep squeezing them in where I can. Enjoy your freedom!

I admire your determination. I was 49 in December and feel that I have given all I can to my Kindergarten teaching career... Also in Newfoundland we can retire when we have taught for 30 years... full pension. I'm going to enjoy it!
