Hi, I've been asked to teach quilting at the Senior's center after the first of the year...they probably know more than me. I teach 4Her's 9-13. Can you give me any ideas that may be helpful?

Barbara, congratulations on being asked to teach. They must believe you have skills to share and you should feel honored.

This section of the message board is for introductions, so we can get aquainted. Questions, conversations, tips, etc. need to be posted in the Main catagory. I am sure you will get many responses and suggestions in that area.

I also would like to applaud you for teaching the next generation of quilters. Your incouragement of creativity will give these kids a gift that will last a lifetime. Thank you. :D

Hi Debbie I also live in Calif, riverside so we are somewhat neighbors. Another thing we have in common is the beagles, I have 1 and she is a handful..if I am not careful she runs off w/ the material and thinks its hers.
I am 51 have 3 grown children and 3 grand daughters. My first sewing machine is a kenmore and I call her "OLD FAITHFUL" she has never let me down and only needs minor repairs every now & then. Just purchased a White 4400 embroidery machine, haven't even attempted to play w/ it.I bought it sew I could machine embroidery but I do love to hand embroidery, I find it very relaxing. Ok time for another cup of coffee....[~]

Hi Happy Quilters!
My name is Linda, and I just moved to a new home in Buckeye, Arizona.
This seems like a neat place to get all kind of info on quilting. I have already learned new ideas already. I lived all my life in Southern California, and have only been here 1 year. I am so glad I have a love of Quilting because quilting has been a real comfort to me during this transition in my life. I look forward to learning more from all of you in the quilting world and meeting new friends!
Linda
