    Red face Hi from Australia

    Hi,
Argh.. introductions are hard! I am new to this quilting thing, in fact SO new - I haven't even started yet.
So.. how did I get here?
I work with miniatures - 1:12 scale and when it came to decorating my little homes - I decided it was time for a new sewing machine. I found a brand new one on eBay - for half the price (unwanted gift.. it was MEANT to be!).. it's a Quilters edition...
So - I thought, why not try it!
Out I went and bought a panel for a cot - and got the batting & back today - and I have NO Idea where to start LOL
Been watching a few tutorials here and there, but it's hard to find a good one that uses panels - I thought it would be easier.
Have been practicing with miniature things, almost completed a bedspread - but now I need to do this cot quilt - it's for a friend!
So.. I joined up here, hoping to learn a trick or two.

    I live in Melbourne, Australia - have 2 sons, 17 & 22, a dog, a bird & 2 lizards.

Welcome to the board...I have not been to Melbourne but spent a month traveling from South of Syndney to Brisbane...Love your country and your people!!!
Please ask your questions, direct, here. We were all new at one time and can help you out.
So. You purchased a panel ( a piece of pre-printed fabric) and now want to make it into a quilt? We can help with that!
Let us know a ? or 2 and you will soon have a finished quilt!

Welcome from Minneapolis! There are some great tutorials on YouTube by Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt company. Her instructions are easy and her enthusiasm is contagious. You'll have so much fun!
A fabric stash is always missing that one fabric needed to finish the quilt on which you're working.

Welcome to our new member from OZ ! I've been to Cairns, Sunshine Coast and love your country ... and the wonderful names of cities/towns ... one of my faves is Maroochyadore, just rolls off the tongue. Oh and opals! The Great Barrier Reef ... on and on. I'd love to go back but hubby didn't like the long flight. It has been 12 yrs now.

Excited to have you here with us
Warm quilt hugs, Sue in CA
