I just joined this group this morning and am really looking forward to some chats with other quilters - and some advice and inspiration! I began quilting about 5 years ago and truly love it. My two favorate quilt shops are in Ozark, AL and Decatur, GA. My favorites in MN are probably Country Fabrics Quilts in Brainerd and Quilted Treasures in Rogers, MN.

Welcome to the board!
What quilt shop in Decatur is your favorite? Mine is Intown Quilters. It takes me over an hour to get there from my house, but it is worth the drive-she has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and make something very different.

It is Intown Quilters! I've onlybeen there a few times since I live in MN, but I LOVE their fabrics. I am in the quilting fabric stage now of more contemporary funky fabric and they have a lot of those :D

I am a much more traditional quilter, sticking to Civil War reproductions, 30s reproductions, Kansas Troubles fabrics, etc. But when I go to Intown Quilters with my daughter (who loves Amy Butler) I find myself buying lots of bright and funky fabrics. They are cheery and fun and I seem to be drawn more and more to them. Funny how a visit to a new quilt shop can do that to you!

Welcome from Blaine, MN.
I've been to Quilted Treasures in Rogers. Have you been to Grubers in St. Cloud? It's one of the largest I've been to. I have several favorites but one is in New London, MN and the other is the Purple Cupboard in Madison, MN.
Looking forward to viewing some of your quilts, we love pictures.

Hi Deb - I have been to Grubers tons of times! It doesn't make my "favs" list just because it is SO big that I can't just go in there to browse, I have to know what I want first - it is just too overwhelming!
Have you been to My Blue Bamboo in Plymouth? Started as an online store but they are open to the public and it is quite the place to visit. They specialize in oriental and batiks and they have some beautiful fabrics!

Welcome aboard! My son and daughter-in-law have a cabin at Spirit Lake near Aitkin, MN where we will meet up in mid- August. I'll have to take notes about the shop in Brainerd.
I'm writing to you from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan -- near the Wisconsin border 100 miles due north of Green Bay. Rumor has it that Green Bay has some sort of football team --heehee :-)
Piecefully yours,
Kay Susan

To Deb G of Blaine, MN --- howdy
We see the water tower each time we are north of the cities en route to see the family at Ramsey. Also have a younger son attending grad school at Winona State.
If you are ever at Winona, MN there is a neat shop called The Quilter's Friend on East Second Street.
