I am new at machine quilting and haven't had any formal classes yet. I plan to take some after the first of the new year.
I bought 2 yards of fleece with my son-in-law's favorite team logo on it and would like to make him a blanket.
Will you kind ladies please give me suggestions? I'd like to make something simple, with a binding.
A photo of the fleece I have is attached.
I welcome any suggestions/directions you may have.
Thank you.

Your suggestion sounds really good. Thanks again.

I smooth my two layers together with one cut 1+ inches bigger on all sides. I bring that over the edge for binding. Makes a very nice finished edge. The corners are not fun to fold, but not too hard. Let me know if you want more directions. I stitched these corners more than usual as this is for an active two year old. The only other blanket that's finished so far is camouflage and it's not pretty!
When it's washed, that cut edge softens and disappears. Just looks like a binding.

front and back of corner - excuse the dog hair!
