New here from N. Minnesota

I've been lurking here on occasion for several months, enjoying "meeting" some of the board's members and seeing what youse guys do here. I especially am enjoying your BOMs. Think I'll try that soon (if doing everyone right away isn't required). Here's a little about myself
Interests (not necessarily in order of importance: quilting, reading, gardening, canoeing, camping, fishing, bird and flower watching.
I am a rookie quilter but sewed clothes for year (not so much anymore) and some camping gear. So far, made only a few wall hangings, blocks for swaps and have a full size top from a signature block swap ready to be pieced (participant in other internet quilting forums). I'm taking it slow; trying to build up my stash at a reasonable rate, practicing techniques on different swap blocks, and trying to keep UFOs from accumulating. I'm married to my DH who shares my love for outdoors and travel. We're now both retired.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I really can use that right now--weather is turning cold, predicts 2-4 inches of snow today (which I'll enjoy--need quite a bit more to x-country ski on). Annmarie, I live in Duluth. I see you're from Rhinelander. I've got relatives, cousins, that live there (or maybe it's Eagle River). In fact, one of the cousins (not sure it's same one) has a daughter named Annmarie. Would be funny if we were related.
