Hi
My name is Beverly and I love to quilt. I have been retired for 7 years and I promised myself that I would learn to quilt when I retired, but it has taken me a while to make good on that promise. I joined a guild about a year ago and I love every minute of it. I do not hand quilt everything I have done so far has been on the machine. I just made my first "big quilt" a queen size and I am having it hand quilted by a church group and they said I could come and learn how on my quilt.

Welcome BDor :) Take them up on their offer to learn to handquilt. It's so nice of them to offer to teach you. You may not choose to ever do one by hand, but having learned to do that before learning to machine quilt, I'm still a hand quilt lover. I hope it never become a dead art. :) I hope you enjoy being a part of this wonderful group. :)

I was like you. I waited until I retired at 57. It was still several years before I started. I wish I had learned a long time ago. I belong to a church group. We hand quilt. It looks so neat to me. I'm going to have to learn to machine quilt because I have bad hands. Good luck on all you quilt. crafftygrandma in Mississippi
