Hello, and welcome from southeastern Michigan!!! Sorry, but I am absolutely no help with your Orange Peel quilt. I've always like the design, but I've never made one. However, I just know you are going to receive lots and lots of help from others on the Board.

Are you piecing it by hand or on a machine? I find hand piecing curves way faster and actually relaxing.

I'm piecing by machine. Even though it's only a double bed size, there are a few hundred blocks. I'm thinking I may try to incorporate some easier other blocks instead of the whole quilt of the orange peel. The directions say that it's such a gradual elipse it's almost straight; however I still need to pin it first, then of course press. thanks for your suggestion

Yes, that's the way they say to pin it, and I do, but it also says that the elipse is so gradual that it's almost straight. I'm not too sure if I agree. I will check out your suggestion. thank you!
