Orange Peel quilt - layout opinions!

    Hello all!

I am finally doing the orange peel quilt - I have had the template forever, but never had the "scrap" fabric to do something with (I keep donating my scrap fabric, and forget that I wanted to keep some!)

The border will be done with a black background as well.

So of the four black squares ... which one should I do for all four of the them?

    Thanks a bunch!

Love the 8 peeps block. Your color choices make this a stunning quilt. I do have s question... are the peels appliqued or pieced? Very nice.

I like the bottom square, the one shaped like an "X". And the top quilt, without the dark fabric around the peels.

Also, (hope you don't mind) I think you should be more generous with the aqua in your peels. It's going to be

beautiful no matter what you do!

First I have to comment what an innovative setting this is for Orange Peel! Lovely work Marion, you are always stretching the envelope and the results are always fantastic.

I think this would look outstanding if you made each of the 4 black blocks in the center the 8 peel block.

Beautiful orange peel variation, just lovely.

I love the block on the left!! I like the colour contrast against the black and I prefer minimalist designs. But I know I'm in the minority with that preference.

So 8 peels it is! And for the person who asked - it's applique. I've already mastered curves, and had no desire to do that many! I am hoping to have it done by Christmas for a friend!

    Thanks all

I wouldn't use the black border squares. Makes it too busy and it takes away from the pretty center.

this will be beautiful. I think you should use all four, it makes the quilt a little different and interesting, or you could do two with the 8 peels and two with one of the others. It will be spectacular either way.

Beautiful. The 8 peels draws the eye and adds a nice sized "Peel Flower" to the center squares.
