Hello All!
I just found this site a week ago and lurked for awhile. This morning, I decided it was about time to jump in with both feet! I've sewn all my life. As a child I learned to sew on the old black Singer, patching squares. My Mother would be "shocked" that we nested seams now and all the modern methods. She instilled upon me, always always must press open and make sure they match. So had to re-learn lots and am still learning more all the time. I learned about taking out seams, thanks to her. If it didn't match she made us re-do it til it was right. At the time, HATED it, though appreciate it all the more now, as often get compliments on my precision work. Off and on over the years I have sewn and pieced quilts. It's become more of a passion and obsession the last few years. Just never enough time to do all the ideas I have. Thus UFOs abound!! And the stash builds :) Which makes me wonder why I had not found you lovelies til now?? PS ... any other Canadians here? |

I was quite pleased. VERY easy to do. What I call an no-mind quilt!! :) When taking from your stash, they don't all have to be jewel tones. Though watch there is contrast between the darker ones and the dark lead (mine was a tone on tone black/grey); and the paler ones and the white lead (mine was a very nothing print). A few of mine are just too close and don't show up as much! I do love the quilt!!! :) |
