The Andes Quilt with Jenny and Mary Fons
I love this quilt made with Mary's new line of fabric. It's a variation of 54-40 or fight.

Mary is a talented person. She performs on stage, in New York no less, and she's artistic. This is the first I have seen of her fabric line. This particular theme isn't to my liking; I prefer lighter, happier, colors and prints. But she's onto something different and I wish her well. I my opinion she was good on the PBS show but gosh, who could fill the shoes of the original Fons and Porter???

Saw that a while back.....do not like her fabric design line, and the block is tepid.......I personally think she is too theatrical when she demoes......sometimes, just too much information......
I just smile as each well-known instructor or "name" then comes out with a line of fabric......

Mary is very talented & I usually love her work. I didn't really care much for this particular line but we can't love everything someone does I guess. I do love Mary though. She had some big shoes to fill on the show & she does a fantastic job.

I also have a dream to design fabric. I have been experimenting with colors to fill a void in the quilting world that no one now fills as far as I can find. Wish me luck although I can't say what my dream fabric is yet.

Unless I miss my guess, I believe Mary Fons was a hyperactive child, and now is a hypperactive adult. Most of them become "clownish" to cope with people's response to their extreme activity. She does remind me of several hyperactive friends of mine. She is animated, but a good teacher in spite of it.
