Those pencil boxes are great for rotary cutters and marking pencils.

I like to also go to Staples or Wal-Mart after school starts. They reduce the prices. Those clear school boxes are great for small projects. I bought several a few years ago. They are great for taking to a quilt class - store your scissors, pin cushion, etc.

    Large pencil sharpeners really cheap.

Lots of neat stuff that's great for quilting.

I also like to look at school supplies when everything is drastically reduced. Going to buy lots of Elmers School Glue. Wonder if I can find the fine tip there.

I pick up my Frixion pens from Staples. I wonder if they will be on sale?

I tried to find the Elmer's fine glue cap...to no avail...I checked the Purple Daisy and they are out of stock, but then I also checked the price....with shipping it was going to be $13.00 for two plastic caps, ridiculous. I wonder what the Joann's tips look like, are they plastic or the metal ones in the paint section....Ahh, but they are out of stock on the Enamel pen tip set and says no longer available on their site in addition to other sites that used to carry this set.
I guess they (Enamel) has gone out of business or quit selling.

I'm going notion shopping today for the fine tip for the glue. Luckily, I don't have to drive all over the city. Walmart in my backyard and everything else on South Padre Island Drive.

I have used these for quilting supplies for a long time. Bought a bunch and gifted them to friend's who quilt too. AND I put little goodies inside the box. A fat qtr, pattern (printed off computer) pencil, pen, whatever you want to put in. Great little stocking stuffer for makeup too.

Another back to school item to use are the zippered pencil pouches. I buy the largest I can find to put my smaller quilting rulers and/or templates in them.

In place of the fine tips, take scotch tape and wrap around the standard tip making a point at the top. Take sissors and cut off just the tip. Or take a pin and poke a hole into the top of the tip. You now have a fine tip to make fine lines of glue. I use this method when using the small bottles of craft paints. When done pull off the tape and close the bottle. No washing the tip and you have a new one each time.
