Default found a new designer-working with wools -modern not folk art(y)

for all of you interested in working with wools/ different textiles/textures and or punch needle projects- i came across a new designer who is creating some really nice (modern) quilts that may appeal. I receive questions all the time from (new wool users) who really want something a little more modern than the (norm) flowers, folk art type wool patterns- this designer has some pretty nice ones

    www.hallbrookdesigns.com
she has a blog and web site & is offering patterns

Beautiful patterns. I used to do the punchneedles over 20 yrs ago. A few years ago I bought some stuff to get back into it but couldn't find any books or instructions on it. I have forgotten all that I had learned. So it sits in my sewing room with it's own little drawer while I embroider, quilt and sew all around it. I didn't see any tutorials on this site either but she does have patterns that are pretty.

Sue Spargo also has a different take on wool applique. She uses lots of bright wools and some extraordinary appliqueing.

Once upon a long time ago, I sold Pretty Punch supplies. I never thought of using pearl cotton to punch with, as PP used yarns. Hmmmm! I might have to dig some of my old supplies out and give it a whirl. Thanks for the link to this site and refreshing my memory.

Thanks so much for this site. I've done some punch needle, but never thought of incorporating them into a mini quilt!
