Welcome to the Quilting Board!
Thanks for this. It's one of the neatest shortcuts I've ever seen. Please post a picture of your quilt when you finish it, it's going to be beautiful!
This is great. I had a quilt in mind but did not want to start it because of triangles but I will try this.
If an 8" square gives you 3 1/2" triangles, is that BEFORE you piece them into a quilt, or is that the actual size after they're in the quilt. Thanks for a wonderful link!
Thanks for the link. Need all the help i can get with triangles.
Just finished doing 16 of these yesterday, sure wish I would have had this tip. Next time I will know.
Thanks for sharing
Have a Blessed day
That's the size before piecing. After piecing they are 3" squares.Originally Posted by matraina
Probably dumb question but - What size would I make the big square in order to make 2-1/2inch squares (2in when sewn together)?? Looks easy, just not sure how to determine what size you end up with.
I have a 6 1/2" sq ruler and made my squares that large. I then trimmed the individual squares to 2 1/2". I think a 6" square will also work.Originally Posted by Terrippy
