Thanks for this. It's one of the neatest shortcuts I've ever seen. Please post a picture of your quilt when you finish it, it's going to be beautiful!

If an 8" square gives you 3 1/2" triangles, is that BEFORE you piece them into a quilt, or is that the actual size after they're in the quilt. Thanks for a wonderful link!

Just finished doing 16 of these yesterday, sure wish I would have had this tip. Next time I will know.

Probably dumb question but - What size would I make the big square in order to make 2-1/2inch squares (2in when sewn together)?? Looks easy, just not sure how to determine what size you end up with.
