A friend made a scrabble quilt using family member names. When thinking of the letters he forgot that when they crossed he needed less so had leftover letters. Rather than pitch them out, he made a word search as the backing using the leftover tiles or letters.

Word search. That's a clever way to use up all those leftover letters. I will have to do this with all those leftovers I have and I have a recipient in mind - a relative who loves doing those word search puzzles! Thanks for the idea.
