No fabric at Michaels, not even great sewing notions. The best I have purchased there is packaged batting with the coupon.

I do not shop at Hobby Lobby in recent years. I don't appreciate their political stance nor the way they treat their female employees. Read up on their positions and then go with your heart.

Fabric is about the only thing they don't carry. They have other quilting notions, though. I love the scrapbook plastic project boxes. Often you can get them 3/$12 or #/$10. they're usually 14"x 14"x 3". Can hold an entire King size quilt top minus the batting.

I live in Canada & have never seen any fabric in the Michaels stores that I have been in. They do have lots of lovely crafting items for other hobbies. Their prices are a little high though. Good thing they always offer some sort of coupons.

When Michaels recently bought out a fabric chain, the discussion was that they would start carrying the fabric. I think they are still discussing whether to have it in brick and mortar or just online. Selling fabric has a huge overhead expense. Not only the inventory and store space, but the personnel to handle it. In this day when rising minimum wage is forcing us to cut employee hours, this is a very difficult decision. It would be terrible PR to have the fabric and then withdraw it.
