Fons and Porter were doing the crazy squares on my PBS station on Saturday. I do crazy squares using an old sheet cut into 12 inch squares and then use my scraps of fabric to make the squares. Makes a real scrappy quilt block and then I sew them into a quilt.

That's how I have always seen crazy quilts done.

I set up my DVR to get Fons and Porter every sat at noon. This one was the paper piecing. I did find it in the link from Ms. Elaneous though, she has some good stuff! Thanks for that link, GrannieAnnie!

how do you make a crazy quilt block? I have been trying to study how to do these, what do you do when you have a weird shape to fill in and can't figure out how to do it. I was going to do a sew and flip the piece over deal but tried to imagine what shape pieces to use, those things are not as easy as they look. My grandma used to make them all the time and she even used circular or arched like pieces, no clue how to do them, if I sew one on and try to open it up, won't it pucker up on me? I am so scared to start, I don't have much fabric and sure don't want to waste any, but want this to be very nice too??????
