I usually get Sewing with Nancy and Fons and Porter at 6:30am and 7am Sat. mornings.
So I turned on my tv this morning to watch them and there's a home repair show on.
I wondered is it campaign week where PBS does special programming to raise money? No that's not it.
Then I checked for the shows in the Search function of my cable system.
Fons and Porter and Sewing with Nancy aren't even listed anymore.
So now there are no sewing, quilting, knitting, crafting shows of any kind on my cable.
But, oh Joy!!! if I ever want to buy, sell, repair a house there are a lot to see.
Grrrr

That is sad. I will have to check our local guide. I hope that has not happened here.

ask a LQS if they would contribute by advertising during a program
get all your quilting friends to write to the station

Remember that PBS nationally doesn't cancel many of the local programming....they only provide the programs. The local stations have to pay for the shows in order to show them...that's why they have their annual or semi-annual fund-raiser. If you want to get the shows back, work on getting sponsors for the shows...check with local quilt shops, quilt guilds, individuals who are willing to spend money to sponsor the shows and keep them on the air in your area.

Ours does the same thing. All of a sudden all the quilting shows are gone and then miraculously they come back. But then they change. They just brought back Eleanor Burns after about a year.

Check to see if they have changed the time slots for the shows.

I haven't had any sewing/quilting shows for years. I miss Alex Anderson.

A few days ago there was the Sewing with Martha program & the Knitting/Crochet session. Will have to check if they are still on the schedule. Sewing With Nancy can not be found anymore.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Those 2 shows are the only ones I get to. Luckily we still have them and they are about to start (8:00-9:00) here.

At least you can watch some on the internet!!!!!

Happy stitching
