overrainbow.com is doing a pay it forward of 8 yards of fabric to the first 50 people that are doing quilts for charity. You do need to pay the postage.

How soon do they need it back? I take it the backing and batting is not included.

They did not give a time. All they send is fabric.

Thank you for posting this. I have committed to my local hospital auxiliary to make quilts for the Pediatrics unit, and since I am a quilting newbie, I do not have a fabric stash built up.

I just emailed the and signed up. I guess we'll see what happens. I've been wanting to do charity quilts for a while now but just didn't know were to start. I guess I just did. Thanks for sharing this info.

Thank you for posting; they only had 5 left when I ordered mine.

Once I see what the fabric is, that will tell me where the quilt might end up (hospital for preemies, cancer patients, or a shelter). I will let everyone know what I made.

jmy dog dottie, there are many charities you can donate quilts to. One that comes to mind is Quilts for Kids: http://www.quiltsforkids.org/. They will even send you the fabric to use...you just have to provide the batting and postage to return it to them. On their press sheet, there's a list of hospitals they give the quilts to. My local hospital is not included, which is why I contacted my hospital auxiliary directly.
