Default Update on "What Happens on My Tractor"

Last summer I posted this in the Picture section:

http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...r-t267296.html

My quilt was made from fabric from a set of pillowcases that I bought at a garage sale. People were interested in knowing where to find that fabric. Today I visited a new Wal-mart in our neighborhood and checked out the fabric department. There it was! The fabric comes from VIP (information I couldn't find on the pillowcases) and was priced at our store for $4.22. That price was lower than other fabrics, so I am concluding that it is discontinued generally, but somehow acquired by Wal-mart.

I haven't seen or shopped for fabric in Wal-mart in a long while, so I don't know how uniform things are from one store to another. I think I need to go back and get some of this cute little tractor boy fabric for my stash!

When a fabric manufacturer can not sell their fabric, it is sold to jobbers who then resell it to discount chains such as Hancock, Walmart, JAF or Ben Franklin.

I have made a couple of baby quilts using this fabric, I also bought it at Walmart. It turns out soo cute! It was one of those fabrics that screams at you as you walk by "Take me home, take me home". What else could I do? haha

Good to know....same quality as LQS, just a slow seller, so to speak.....and reduced price!

really cute fabric. Sometimes our Walmart has really cute fabrics, but they fly out of the building so fast.
