I'm looking for a tool ..looks like a half inch button with one hole in the middle. You stick a pencil in the hole and run it along
the edge of somthing and it makes a mark at 1/4 inch..Saw one at a meeting ,been searching for one for a long time.
Hope somone has some info....ssuzz

I have one. I think I ordered it from either Nancy's Notions or Keepsake Quilting. I don't think I've ever used it. It's easier to take a ruler and mark another 1/4 inch line.

Is it like a small copper washer with a hole in the middle.
They are great for adding seam allowance to odd shaped pieces when using a template. They were (and may still be) available in 1/8", 1/4" and some larger sizes.

It's called the Quilter's Wonder Wheel:

It costs just a couple of bucks (or less).

If you take two pencils and rubber band them next to each other you will get two pencil lines that are 1/4" apart. You can trace around curves or straight line. Works great and it cheap and available.
Hope this helps.
