The wonderful member that made the tutorial had it taken down I can understand why. I was wondering if anyone might have written down the instructions? I am a visual person this was the best tutorial I have seen. If you did could you let me in on how it was made. I remember you needed 7- 2" strips x 32 and then I think you cut them into triangles and sewed them together but that is all I remember. Thank you for your help!

laureneberhard posted the direction she came up with by looking at the picture. This link also has the pattern for sale at a quilt shop with the address and phone number attached.

Hope this helps. You can also search under "Fabric Fling for other pictures.

the "pattern" in question is just an ever-so-slightly upscale string quilt.

here's a free set of instructions for the same public domain design. you can use any number of strips that pleases you; any fabric selections; any block size.

http://quiltville.com/striptwist.shtml

Bonnie makes hers by cutting the starting block into two triangles and then playing with sets of four. the other method involves cutting the starting block into four triangles and rotating those to get the desired effect.

it all works out the same ... except you get to keep the money in your pocket (or use it to buy fabric. )

i've surgically deleted a few comments posted in this thread.

the instructions for the specific string quilt "Fabric Fling" were written and published under copyright protection. please respect the author's rights. i'm sure she invested a great deal of time and effort in getting it published.

please limit your assistance to discussing preparation and construction of the generic, public domain version.
