Default Advice Needed - Please

I'm making a baby quilt on short notice. It has to be done by April 20th. It's important to add that I'm new to quilting, a major procrastinator, and I work full-time. The mom picked a Dr. Seuss theme. I thought I would make a quilt similar to my avatar since that was easy and I love how it turned out.

Well, I'm not feeling this quilt at all. It just seems boring. I was going to use the yellow fabric for the sashing, but I do not like it at all. I like the white better, but it still does nothing for me. I was going to do a 2.5 inch saching and then do a boarder of 2.5X5" rectangles of the different Dr. Seuss fabrics with the red and white polka dot as the binding. I used 5 inch squares to make the big field of blocks. Is there some easy method where you can cut the four patch block and make a pinwheel? What else could I do? I'm really picky and my daughter says I should just put it together like I planned. TIA for any advice you can offer.

What about making a thin white sashing, and thin yellow sashing? Then you could use the narrow blocks for the wide border? Hope this makes some sense.

What about a narrow yellow inner border then a dark blue outer border? I would then FMQ something cute on the solid border. Bind in either the yellow or red. Just MHO.

I like your original plan with the yellow fabric with the polka dot binding.

Use the yellow, but put a red flange around the center to add Interest

I've made a couple of quilts with this fabric, and the aqua color has been the key for me. Have you tried using that instead of the yellow?

I agree with Julie. I would go w/ white and aqua. You have plenty of red/yellow in the blocks. I think the baby and the mommy will LOVE it! What are you using for backing?
