Wish you had posted a photo. I look at every quilt that leaves my house is like a child going off to explore the world.

Absolutely understand how you feel....but you will feel amazing when you see little Kylie (my grand-daughter's name as well) lying on or wrapped up in her special gift from you !!!

Not cuckoo at all. This is why I kept my first-ever quilt.

Congratulations on the quilt and the new little person. I hope you never lose your enthusiasm for quilting!

Nope, not cuckoo, I feel that way about everything I make, clothes or quilts. When I had the quilt for my first granddaughter finished, I kept it at my house. Of course I had a crib set up for her use when she was with me. Worked great! I got to see her and my quilt all the time, and I also was able to take care of the quilt . Her mom would not have cared for it very well. Now it is waiting for what I hope will be a great-granddaughter , some day before I die!!lol

I'd love to see pictures, as well as hear about your daughter's response. I think we are all there with you. We've put so much time, love and care into what we make and then they are ready to leave the nest...sigh.

This is the exact reason that I have only given away about a third of mine. Be sure to take pictures of it with the baby and by itself.

No, you're not cuckoo. Sometimes I keep my gift quilts a little longer than I should just so I can enjoy looking at them. Or maybe we're both cuckoo. LOL
