Use the strip twist pattern from Quitville, Bonnie makes the neatest scrappy patterns. http://www.quiltville.com/striptwist.shtml I am currently doing one for a customer out of her GM,DM and her family's clothing. This is my favorite pattern for clothing use. Happy sewing.

I think a traditional block, either log cabin or dresden plate and then applique something on the quilt that represented her (ie a cat, a flower or something).

I like this one from Bonnie Hunnter http://quiltville.com/stringquiltingprimer.shtml

The white constant in it could be changed to this woman's favorite color.

Than you so much ladies. I got motivated last night and cut up the clothing. I have done Bonnie Hunter's method many times with scraps. I haven't done the strip twist. I don't have many 18" pieces but guess I could sew smaller lengths together.

I like all of your ideas and hadn't thought of any of them.

This is my favorite pattern for using shirts in a quilt. Haven't made it yet but have collected the shirts.

OMGoodness, I'm beginning to feel really old. I remember when that was called a demensional bow tie block.
