Default Bernette deco scan problem

I am able to scan the picture but then it doesn't get onto the card. The message keeps saying to insert the card into slot 2 and then press okay. Even after doing this step it still doesn't work. Should the card be in no. 1 slot first and then in no.2. Hope i have made this clear enough. A new card is so expensive.

Thank you,
Joanne

I am trying to understand so that I can help you. If you insert the card into the machine does anything come up? How old is your card? Is this a process you have done many times with success? I also need to understand your phrase of scaning a picture? Once I understand exactly what you are doing. I think I can help you.

Hopefully I can explain this a little better. This is not a sewing machine. It's a separate self contained scanner. It has a wand that you place over a picture and drag it across. This picture comes up on a 4x4 screen which is suppose to go to the card. But this is when the msg comes up that the card is not getting the picture. I can then place the card into my babylock. So far no luck. I have only had the scanner for a couple of days. The person who sold this to me is sending another card . Thanks for any help you can offer.

Ok, I think I get it now. I have the same set up. There was paper that came with the scanner. I would have to find it and see if it is anything special. ( haven't used this in many years.) Also there was a special pen that went with it. You had to trace your picture in layers with the pen on the paper and then scan the traced paper, layer by layer. The scanner reads the traced images not the origional picture. See if the person you bought this from still has the book that goes with the scanner. It explains all this. There is sort of a skill to this process. I used to use mine some, but I will tell you it is easier said than done. Especially if what you want to embroider has a lot of detail. If I remember it correctly, you can't lift the pen off the paper. This is part of why you have to do it in layers. You also have to assign stitches to the design. You do this in the scanner. If you didn't get the book, you need it, it walks you through the process step by step. When I bought mine, I thought I could just scann an immage and wala it would write to the card and I could sew it out. Not so. If you need more help let me know. If needed I will look for my book and see if I see anything special in it, and if there is anything unique to the pen you use. If I remember correctly, it was sort of a yellow pen that was hard to see on the paper. As you can tell, I haven't used it in years.
