I always pin...even if the pieces are 2"...if it can be screwed up it will happen to me if I don't pin.

i consider myself lucky when i don't feel a need to pin.

not only do i usually wind up pinning at least half the time, i have also been driven to [gasp!!!!] baste ... sometimes using the machine sometimes with needle and thread. i think it must be a "leftover" from sewing clothes with my mom all those years ago.

well said. I pin the intersections because I am particular about getting it matched up. The rest is just what works best for you, however you learned and are comfortable.

I pin at intersections with putting blocks and rows together. Helps me keep them lined up. Otherwise, I don't pin unless they're not getting along.... :wink:

I pin too... especially the joins and then they are correct... come on you others, give it a go, you will be pleased with the result.

I pin at the start and at the intersections so they won't slip.

I don't pin unless I absolute feel I have to. I find that pinning actually causes my seams to be off more. I do use a lot of starch though. It helps to keep the fabric from stretching.
