What is your favorite batting and why. I use Warm 'n natural but want to try a poly type for softness. My LAQ says it will beard too much. Opinions please. Thank you for taking the time to write. watson's mom

I use Hobbs 80/20 cotton/poly. I usually hand quilt so I don't use W&N, it is too hard to needle. I am anxious to try wool batting, and Mountain Mist Cream/white Rose, all cotton batting.

roselady-for hand quilting, wool is the BOMB! I love it.

I like the Warm Blend for machine quilting because it doesn't shrink as much as Warm & Natural.

Look on this forum for past threads on batting - I know there have been several in the recent past.

If you want to try a poly try the Quilter's Dream poly. It's a lot like their cotton battings and I have never had it beard in any quilt.

I like the cotton batting and that is all I use. However I am working on a sampler quilt (in between other projects) and I think I am going to try using flannel (sp?) so it will be more of a coverlet.

I love to use Hobbs 80/20, Tuscany and Legacy pure cotton and Hobbs wool batting. They are all great for hand quilting.
    Honestly I don't like polyester.
