I am using fleece for the backing and was told if you use fleece, there is no need for batting???
Also, do you machine or hand quilt when there is no batting or do you just tie the quilt?
Thanks in advance,
Jean

The fleece is thick enough that it replaces the batting... you can quilt it either way. A walking foot would be really helpful for machine quilting grids on it.
