Hi everyone! I really appreciate all your input. I have been getting set up to do machine quilting, reading all the blogs, ordering the best equipment I can afford. I have my new Gracie frame set up and was wondering what is the best size needle and corresponding thread to use. Are there quilting needles for the machine or just the right size needle to use for machine quilting? You guys are great.

Thanks

You can find information about needles and threads for machine quilting at http://www.superiorthreads.com . What kind of machine do you have? Superior usually recommends a size 80 or 90 topstitching needle for machine quilting on a domestic machine, depending on the thread choice. Midarm and longarm machines usually require a bigger needle.

It depends on your machine. I only use the needles that were recommend by the manufacturer of my machine.
