Smile Good Price for Tin Lizzie?

I have a chance to purchase a used (2007 ?original) Tin Lizzie with wood frame for $850. The seller says only used in '07 & '08.

Seems too good to be true-opinions please.

Also, does anyone know if the machine has sat used since '08, will it work ok? I don't mind if it needs to be tuned up or serviced, just not interested if needs a major overhaul.

Thanks,
SewingLadyDI

Find out where you can have it serviced and what a "tune-up" would cost. Baring anything being broken, it sounds like a wonderful deal! Also, check online to see what others are asking for used 'Tin Lizzies.'

Sounds like a fabulous deal. The machine itself is a mechanical sewing machine. Unless it was dropped or submerged there's not much that could not be repaired if needed. Depending on the type of quilting you do, you may want to invest in a newer aluminum frame.

That is an amazing price! I bought my Lizzie second hand for $4500 and have never been sorry. If there is anything wrong with it, it can be fixed. If this price is true RUN to buy it.

Sounds like a great price to me. Even if you have to pay for a tuneup. As long as the machine has been protected it should still work okay. I say, go for it.
