Default best foot for SITD?

What foot do you use for SITD? I've tried my walking foot, but only find it so-so. I'm going to experiment with other feet, but was wondering what your experiences are?

Most machines come with a joining foot. Many use that for SITD. You can use a double needle and not thread the right one to use it as a guide. I don't like to sew right in the seam line I sew right next to it.

My Viking walking foot has changeable plates. I have the single hole, zigzag, quarter inch guide and SITD. The SITD has a guide on the bottom that rides in the ditch, and makes it a snap. As mentioned, it's similar to the joining foot.

I have a Janome 6600 with Accu-feed, which is like a built-in walking foot. I have a SITD foot for it, so I get best of both worlds - walking foot action, with a center guide "blade".

But if I had to choose between having the walking foot action and having the guide blade, I'd pick the walking foot. The guide is nice, but I think the upper feed dogs are more important.

My Janome has a SITD foot - the guide is out front, and I have had very good success with that. I must say though, that I use it primarily on my NICU quilts and my smaller lap quilts.

for me, it's open-toe walking foot. hands down.
i can see clearly where the needle is going to land.

i bought the open-toe accufoot for my own janome primarily for SITD.

The SIDT foot looks exactly like the edge joining foot.

I have a factory made walking foot that was made for my Bernina which I always use unless it is a mug rug and I am just too lazy to take off my 1/4" foot. I found the generics were cheaply made.
