I have a Janome 6600 with Accu-feed, which is like a built-in walking foot. I have a SITD foot for it, so I get best of both worlds - walking foot action, with a center guide "blade".
But if I had to choose between having the walking foot action and having the guide blade, I'd pick the walking foot. The guide is nice, but I think the upper feed dogs are more important.
