    Thanks so much for sharing. I have always dreaded doing the bindings because I always have trouble keeping the binding out of my way while still trying to get it on so this is a must try idea for me. Again thanks so much for making my work a little easier.

    I did this a week or so ago, but just made a nice roll for the batting and put it on the extra spool spindle. It worked fine. I talked to a friend and she gave me soem old, very large wooden spools to try next time.

    Good hint .. will remember it when I use bias tape.

    My 1¼" binding is usually 7 yards long, so it wouldn't bit on this pill bottle, so I wind it around my hand and keep the roll on the top of my quilt.
