    He needed some persuasion to even take the $20. As soon as he said the amount he said "no no it's free". But $20 is a bargain compared to a real repair bill and parts so I'm happy happy happy.

    You need an extra machine for the just-in-case this happens again. My fairly new Pfaff is in the shop, has been for 3 months now. Place I go to have tons of work for this part of the state (WA). I'm using my old Bernina and even tho' it has several million miles on her, she still gaves her all to the sewing projects. Couple years ago, I bought a really old Pfaff, (1940's) for $30 at a yard sale. That one is my backup for the backkup. I just can't be without a machine, the withdrawals would put me in the hospital.
