    Absolutely not! You can have whatever border width - or NO border that YOU want. Sometimes visually a certain border width will be more appealing, but then again, you can do whatever you jolly well please!

    I put on whatever size seems to fit and not overwhelm the quilt. Also, will add extra border(s) if I want the quilt larger.
