    mytwopals,PWinston,bj, & bjnicholson,

I played with this quilt most of the day and came up with this. I did like you said used the light fabric to make the star pop as my 1st border, & then added the dark borders.
I only pined it together to see how it would look. I do like the white fabric first then the darks the best . I think....LOL

I tried some others which do you like the best??
    Thank you

This is the 3 colors with the white inbetween

I like the second pic. but would make the green second border smaller. If you need it for dimension, split it and make a strip through it with the floral.

I really like the WHITE border first(you are going to put all the way around the quilt not just the sides, right?) and then the flower border(but the corners need to be mitered with this pattern).

    Thanks everyone for your Help.

Yes, I will put the white border all around as I need the length and width.
I'll try and miter the flower border but I never did that before.
If I miter that border should I miter all of the other borders?
Right now it is just pinned to see which way looks the best. The dark borders are not the size they will be I just pinned the fabric to see how it looked.
Thanks for your help.I like the white border first too...

I like the white border first -- it makes the central theme float. I love the floral next. After that, the borders should be narrower, I think.

My own personal preference would be to make the white border narrower rather than have it the same (or near) the width of the green. Contrast in width catches the eye as well.

I like the white border too. I hope you do miter the corners, and I'd do all the borders - you can sew the border strips together and do the miters as one unit.

There's an excellent tut here on mitered corners - use the 'search' for that!
EDITED - here's an *excellent* tutorial:

GREAT job on the quilt! It's beautiful :)
