Default borders

Hi everyone...........I need to put a narrow strip on my quilt before the border goes on. I know the border should not be pieced but can the 1" strip be? I don't want to buy 3 yards of batik to get a couple of 1" strips.............

I piece borders all the time...not everyone can buy the yardage required to eliminate seams.

I've seldom put on any border that was not pieced.

The only time that borders really shouldn't be pieced is when it is going in for competition. You can piece any border you like. Some attached the pieces together on an angle or some just do a straight seam. No regulation that I know of and I have been quilting since the mid 80s.

I always piece my boarders unless it is a wall hanging and I don't have to.
