I don't think it's supposed to be used in the top; that's what I was told anyways. It's for the bobbin. Correct me if I'm wrong.

On the thread chart for Bottom Line it says, "For bobbin, detail quilting, applique, lacework, binding, and much more." That sounds to me like it is not strictly for bobbins. However, that is ALL I am going to do with it from now on.

I've used it top and bottom, and I really like it. I've never had a thread break using it.

Bottom line is a thinner thread -- it is designed for the bobbin where the thread takes less abuse than running through the tension disks in the top. That said, some machines are less fussy than others and some folks have been able to use Bottom line on top without problems.

I'm with Janet, I love it. Used it top and bottom, and even piecing, without problems.

    This link will help
    http://www.superiorthreads.com/shop/...e/description/

Tells you what needle you should be using and that your tension settings should be for domestic and LA.

Superior threads gives a needle recommendation so the thread is not intended for bobbin use only.

If you are getting alot of breakage I recommend changing your needle to Superior's recommendation and adjusting your tension.

Here is a wonderful guide Superior offers as a quick reference for tension and needles for all their wonderful products

I am not affiliated, just a very satisfied customer.

I have used it top and bottom for piecing and for quilting on both DSM and longarm with no problems. I particularly love it for paper piecing.
