I like Bottom Line in the needle and in the bobbin for some projects. I do most of my quilting in a 1947 Singer model 15-91.

I also use it for hand applique, because it doesn't shred or tangle, it stays threaded in the needle and if I use a close value of the applique color, the thread just disappears into the fabric.

I used it successfully with my Viking Sapphire, when I found it frustrating to use other threads. I've also used it on my Bernina Aurora 430. I haven't tried it on the Singer treadle yet, though.

Today was the first day I used Bottom Line Thread in my Bernina 830. It is very picky about the thread I use. I get lots of breakage if it doesn't like the thread. Well, the name should have told me to use it only in the bobbin, but I sometimes don't see the obvious and used it in the top and bottom and my machine loved it. So, I'm using it only now. The 830s are suppose to be such wonderful machines, but I have problems with mine. My old Viking had less problems and cost $7,000 less. Wish I would have known that when I bought the dang thing. It's working fine now with this new thread, so fingers crossed!

I haven't tried it on top, but I use it in the bobbin on both my LA and domestic. I have a Voyager (LA) and an Elna 6500 Heritage Edition. I really like Superior products. I use King Tut on my Voyager and it works well with the Bottom Line. I usually use YLI Soft Touch with the Elna, which is also a 60 wt thread. I plan to use the Bottom Line in the bobbin of my new embroidery machine once I run out of the pre-wound bobbins.

What do you do with the large spools? I have a Janome 6600 and a Janome 6500. I tried to use the BL by putting the cones on the table right behind the machine and running the thread up through the tall thread holder. I had constant breaks with both 80 large eye and 90 large eye needles. I've given up trying to use it on top.

At first I though it was the machine, but I can FM with Aurifil 50wt. and Polylite with NO problems. The Aurifil and Polylite are on spools which I put on the thread pins, but the BL is a large cone. I'm wondering if where I put the cone has something to do with the breaks. I've done sitd with spool BL and didn't have any problem.

So, if you use the BL cones, where do you put them?

My experience is that my Janomes will not take it top and bobbin, but my Bernina will.

I use a metal thread stand. It sits a little behind the machine. You can tape a safety pin to the machine to act as a thread guide; I also used the flip down cover on the Sapphire as a guide.
