Buying batting by the bolt?
#1
Does anyone know of a website that sells batting by the bolt?
Through my search, I've just seen the bags of batting. I'm thinking that I'm searching the typical sites like fabric.com, joanns, connecting threads, etc that do not offer batting by the bolt.
Can anyone suggest a site or should I just drive to a Hancocks and pick up a bolt and then head to the check out?

I usually buy Warm and Natural from Joann's by the bolt. Good thing to remember is that if you buy it from Joann's website, you can usually get a free shipping code or 40% off. They normally carry it for $315.60 (I think) online for a 90" x 40 yds roll. It is on sale right now for $179 and there is a free shipping code of CYBER333. I just ordered my two rolls!!!
If I buy it in the store by the bolt, they charge me $450 or so for the bolt-then I have to lug it into the car, from the car, up the steps, into the house.
I order online, much cheaper (if you have to pay shipping, it is way reasonable ($17.95 for me). UPS backs up to my house, carries it into my house and places it on the floor. I push it to the stairs and push it down there!!!
The only downfall is that UPS boxes are dusty! But, I can get over it!
There are a lot more sites that sell it by the bolt, just google it.

If you can get to JoAnns today before they close, they have batting 50% off with a coupon for an additonal 20% off your entire order. Yesterday I bought a 40 yard roll still in the box!! GREAT DEAL.....

I did some figuring, it is definitely cheaper (if going with W & N through Joann's) to buy it by the pkg (90 x 108). I still buy by the bolt though because a lot of times, I might only need 72 x 90 for a quilt, then I just cut it at the 2 yds. If I do this with a pkg, then I will have a 36 x 90 piece left for doing wallhangings and scrap batting, but I don't do a lot with that and would end up not using it. On the bolt, I will still have it as usable.
