Hello, I'm very new to quilting but have made a couple wall hangings. At the time, I found batting that said it was for craft projects so I used that but cannot find it again. There is so much batting to choose from. For wall hangings, can you tell me what kind of batting I should use? The batting I've seen at JoAnn's just indicates what loft it is. Should I go by that? The last batting I used was polyester. Thanks so much!

I usually just use the same batting in wall hangings as I do for quilts. Saves a lot of different types to buy.

I like a thinner batting for wall hangings. Warm & Natural is nice & I like the W & N 80/20 too.

Polyester is just fine. It doesn't drape as much as cotton batting which should be fine for a wall hanging!

some people even use felt for wall hangings. I dont see why you couldn't use a piece of fleece from the clearance bin (joanns)

I used Hobbs 80/20 and I buy the fusible stuff for baby quilts, wall hangings or table runners. I have used the bamboo stuff and it is wonderful but I ALWAYS wait till batting is on sale before buying.

I use the 80/20 purchased on a large roll for the quilts and have lots of pieces left over, so they go in the smaller projects.
