Well I guess it all depends on what you want to use the quilt for. You could use thin sashing in between each block and then use one of those permanent pens and write your favorite quotes, sayings, bible verses. Or if you are a reader like me write the title of the books you have read. Then it could become your curl up and read quilt. Sorry if it sounds crazy. I'm just simple like that.

My first thought was a snowball block. Find a good fabric that will contrast with your fabrics. Cut that contrasting fabric in squares. You decide the size. Place them in each corner and sew them on an angle. Like half a flying goose.When you sew the blocks together your pretty fabric will be intact but you will have cute little squares through out the quilt.
