Sounds like you've got a good lead on quilt shops. May I suggest the Japanese Garden in Portland? My DH is also a photographer and he loves that place. As a matter of fact, so do I.

I just have to add to your post, we are going to the Sisters quilt show this year! I am so excited. I never thought that my DH would agree to go to this area in our motorhome. I'm hoping to get to the coast also, since we'll be so close. I'll be following this post for all of the great recommendations.

I agree with the poster about the OREGON COAST - it's a photographer's paradise. Going to Oregon without seeing the coast would be like going to Maine and not seeing a lighthouse or eating lobster! We live in WA state, but always head down to the OREGON Coast whenever we can.
