Someone on here had done a chenille blanket and it was beautiful. So I have decided I have to do one. I am going to Paducah tomorrow to look for a slash cutter and I was wondering...do they just come in one size? The ones I saw on ebay had a 1/8 or 1/4" guide and the strips you sew are 1/2". Does this matter?

I found cutting was lots easier than the 'slasher'. The 'slasher' just seemed to get stuck and stop cutting for me. I used the short shears that fiskers makes with the spring that opens the blades.

Good luck!

I don't think you would have a need for anything smaller than 1/4" for quilts. The other would be for cosmetic bags, and other smaller items.
