Default Cleaning my mat

I have quite a few strings and batting wisps caught in my mat. I use a section of wet pool noodle to help clean out the cuts. It works pretty well as you can (hopefully) see from the picture of a small section I have cleared. I use a firm pressure and go in circles.

that is a great idea. It doesn't ruin the mat? Did you just use water or did you add a little mild dish soap? Your mat sure shows the difference and that is a good difference.

I have always used a slightly damp microfiber cloth and works great. Have never done the bathtub or had to flatten because of warp. If I'm going to use my mat for any other reason where any other adhesives will be used, I flip the mat.

I use just water since they say you can soak your mat in the bathtub to rejuvenate it. I know they have an actual tool to clean out your mat but I already had a pool noodle. I am amazed at the things I can use a pool noodle for.

Thanks for such a great idea! I'm going to hunt down a pool noodle and clean my mat.
What are some of your other noodle uses?

You can google and find a lot of uses for a pool noodle.

I keep a couple of the solid round noodles for rolling my back and top on when I get ready to make my quilt sandwich. I can push the straight pins into the noodle to hold the edge of a quilt top along the noodle, roll it all up and then unroll it over the batt.

That is a smart idea!
