Some of you know that I am making a lap quilt for a DF who has been diagnosed with cancer (It's in the liver and pancreas therefore terminal) I am not very good at FMQ but there was no time to send the quilt to my LAQ so I said to self you CAN do this.... Well, my quilting isn't great, but I thought she would understand. To finish it off, I decided to add a decorative stitch in the middle of the outside border. 3 sides done. Then as I turned the quilt to do the last side, I dumped a glass of water that was on my sewing table. Of course water went everywhere including on the computer end of my sewing machine!!! I brought it to my repairman last night, and while await his news, I will TRY to improve some of the FMQ on my old machine that doesn't hold a tension well and maybe put on the binding. Please pray that drying it out will salvage my machine so I can get this quilt to her hopefully ASAP....

NOOOOOOOO! Oh, I feel your pain! Hope your machine is alright. If you can't get your old machine to do the last row of decorative stitches, could you use that border to write a nice little message or verse for your friend. Get the binding on and she will love it because you made it thinking of her.

Hopefully, your machine will be fine since you took it in right away. After a family outing one time, we came home to find water coming out of all our light fixture due to a burst pipe in the attic. My serger was sitting right under the one in the dining room. Took it in the next day and they dried it out and oiled it. Worked just fine!
