Default Colors I don't have in my stash

This past weekend at a craft fair a young woman bought an embroidered pillow I had made, which naturally endeared her to me

We started talking about sewing, and she said she'd pay me to make her some throw pillows in dark blue, grayish blue, and maroon. Huh. To me, that seems dated, or at least the pictures in my mind are of older prints. When I got home, I looked through my stash (which is considerable) and I have nothing that fits the bill. I can hardly believe that's possible, lol.

Not having seen her decor, I don't if it's dated or if there's some modern variant with these colors. I think I will have to wait until inspiration strikes. I'd love to see things anyone's done in these colors, if possible. Thanks!

Sorry, I do mostly charity quilts using bright color fabrics. Good Luck.

Here are a couple I've done in dark blue, blue/grey and brown. Not maroon, but close.

Lois, those are beautiful. I especially like the second one. Willferg, I think you can make any colors look modern with the right design. But she may not be going for modern. Can you ask for pictures of her home, so you know her style?

I would have her pick out the fabrics.

Lois, those quilts are great! They seem to me a little more masculine, and this is a girl who lives alone. It would be great to have pics of her home, because my imagination is not up to this task, I'm afraid. It's not a big deal, as she's not that anxious about getting these, but I thought I could whip something up no problem. It was interesting for me to realize how little I have of those colors in my stash, though.

My idea of maroon may not be your/her idea of maroon. I'd want more information. Either paint sample colors or have her buy the fabric. And a picture of where she plans to use them to see what style is in the room.

Sounds like a modern combination to me. I would be in the same boat.
